E Street

E. Street is a cozy tri-plex nestled near the Washburn Historical District in downtown Springfield. There are currently five residents living in the house, which makes for a constant bustle and great times for staff and residents. There are always activities, work and/or ATE programs, and projects going on at E. Street that keep everyone busy. Laughter is not an uncommon sound echoing off the walls of this house!!

Mark works at Pearl Buck Center. In his spare time he enjoys his daily walks with staff and his weekly trip to Wal-Mart for his Sports Illustrated magazine. Don’t be surprised to regularly hear Mark singing from his apartment in the back of the house. He loves jamming to the oldies!! Perhaps his most favorite thing of all is receiving a box from “Mama!” He awaits these with great anticipation.

Joy works in the laundry department at LCC. Joy is accompanied by her two beloved cats, Tulie and Skylar.  She’s fond of anything to do with cooking, whether it be dessert for her housemates, to the full meal deal.  She even attends classes at LCC to enhance her cooking skills. Coupon cutting, garage sales, and attending and/or hosting parties can be found on the top of her list of things she likes to do.

Kay is retired from Pearl Buck Center and is currently involved in an ATE program.  Kay enjoys various art activities including beading necklaces and painting. Attention from staff is very important to Kay. She loves to spend 1:1 time hanging out with her favorite staff here at E. Street, especially the male staff. She is very fond of beef stew, and loves cooking projects of any sort.

Richard works at Goodwill Industries. He loves the interaction with his co-workers and being involved in the community. He is also a board member with the ARC of Lane County and has received several awards for his good deeds and participation in his community.  Richard looks forward to pizza night on Thursdays and his nightly telephone calls to friends and family. He is very social and loves to kick back and chat.

Cari has recently started a new volunteer opportunity and will be moving into an employment position. She enjoys her daily phone calls home, horseback riding, and watching TV with her roommate. Perhaps her favorite outing is heading to Build A Bear to get new clothes and accessories for her bears, “Princess” and “Caramel!” Cari has a fantastic sense of humor and loves to laugh and joke with the staff!
