Applications are always welcome, however, applicants will only be hired on an as-needed basis, depending on position openings and other factors. You must respond to all emails sent from the hiring team within three (3) business days in order to be considered for employment. New-hires are expected to fill open shifts, which could be day shifts, swing shifts or overnight shifts. To see examples of shifts click on the link above. Once you have completed 90 days in your assigned shift you are able to bid on other open shifts.
Alvord-Taylor offers a variety of full and part-time employment opportunities assisting adults with developmental disabilities. The agency currently has over 100 employees, many of whom provide support to individuals in a residential setting at our 11 group homes, our Supported Living Program and our Alternative to Employment Program located in the Eugene-Springfield area. Alvord-Taylor provides a wonderful opportunity to gain skills that can help employees to succeed in social service. Training may include behavioral management, medication administration, money management, data entry, CPR/First Aid and many more.
Generally, within two business days, applicants will receive an email response stating that their application was received. Applicants who do not respond to any email sent from the HR Department within three business days will not be considered for employment. Those who submit an incomplete application and/or fail to complete the assessment will not be considered for employment.
When we are not in a normal hiring cycle (when the only posting is for "Any Open Position") you will recieve an email when we are actively hiring and starting to process applications for current open positions.
Once an application has been completed and processed, qualified applicants will be scheduled for interviews. These interviews typically last from one to two hours.
Following interview, applicants who are chosen to move forward in the selection process will be asked to schedule Pre-Hire Visits, which involve visiting more than one of our group homes to be evaluated prior to employment.
Applicants who complete Pre-Hire Visits, and are approved, will be notified of their first date of employment.
Once hired, applicants are expected to complete new employee training and orientation, which may include up to two weeks of classroom instruction and as much as ninety days of on-the-job training.
