Source of Funding

The major source of funding for operations for Alvord-Taylor programs come from the State of Oregon, which combines state and federal funds available through the Home and Community-Based Services Medicaid waiver. The Oregon State Office of Developmental Disability Services forwards the money to Lane County Developmental Disability Services who contracts with Alvord-Taylor to provide services to individuals with developmental disabilities. Though contract income covers a substantial portion of the costs of operation, many identified needs must be met through other funding sources. Grant funds are often sought to finance capital improvement or property acquisition projects.

In order to increase our clients’ community involvement and help them achieve their personal goals outside the home, Alvord-Taylor needs private donations as additional sources of funding. These donations afford our clients the ability to access all services and activities available for their participation, therefore fullfilling their mission to be as active in our community as possible.
